    Welcome to SRS Sixth Form

    SRS Form opened in September 2013 and offers a one-to-three-year programme for young people aged 16–19 with MLD. Our Sixth Form provision is designed to ensure that every learner develops the skills, confidence and independence needed to move successfully into adulthood.

    Our vision is rooted in preparing pupils for life beyond school, with a practical focus on understanding the world of work, community inclusion and the development of essential life skills. We offer a personalised and carefully structured curriculum that reflects pupils’ strengths, aspirations and individual pathways.

    Our curriculum is intentionally designed to build personal independence, communication skills, emotional regulation and self‑advocacy, enabling pupils to access employment, further education and the wider community with increasing autonomy. Pupils take part in a range of accredited qualifications, enrichment experiences and real life opportunities across school and in the community.

    Work experience plays a central role in our Sixth Form offer. Pupils engage in meaningful workplace opportunities, developing the practical, social and professional skills required to navigate employment successfully.

    Pupils leave Samuel Rhodes with significantly increased independence, having developed essential life skills such as, self‑care, budgeting and communication for real world settings.

    Every learner participates in purposeful work-related learning, enabling them to build confidence, understand workplace expectations and make informed decisions about their future pathways.

    Our focus on emotional regulation and communication ensures pupils can recognise their needs, use strategies to stay regulated and confidently express themselves in a range of settings.

    Through personalised pathways and close multi‑agency working, pupils transition successfully into college placements, supported internships, employment training and community opportunities.
